St. Petersburg State Civil Aviation University (SPSCIU), whose history dates back to 1909, when first aviators pioneered the sky, prepares specialists for all areas of aviation: pilots, navigators, aircraft maintenance engineers, airport and air transportation engineers, airline managers, air transportation managers, as well as experts in flight security, Personnel Management, Law, and Public Relations. There are over 5000 people from more than 30 countries studying at the University at the moment.The University is made up of 12 faculties and 33 departments. The high teaching standard is proven by many prestigious awards, including the Order of Lenin, and the international Birmingham Torch and Gold Bar, which are given to educational institutions for their great achievements. Taking part in various international projects in higher and postgraduate education, SPSCIU cooperates with 27 foreign centers of education and research.Modern academic buildings, the research and technology library (over 500 000 books), the aviation history museum (20 000 exhibits), sports centers, student hostels, the university hotel are all situated on the territory of the “air town”, next to the large international airport of St. Petersburg. The University is proud of its unique training center for future pilots, navigators and land dispatchers, where they simulate the real work of the air crew in detail, including the emergency and extreme situations, in order to learn and test themselves. Upon successful completion of any Russian state university, the graduate gets higher education degree of Russian national standard indicating speciality and qualification. Course duration (academic years)

4  years – Bachelor’s Degree, 
2 years – Master’s Degree (after Bachelor’s);
5 years – Specialist’s degree/ Degree in Engineering

During the initial registration procedure the student pays a 200 EURO entrance fee to cover the expenses on making up the official invitation, sending the original letter of invitation and other documents via Express Mail, meeting the student at the international airport in Moscow or St. Petersburg, transferring him/her to the domestic flights airport/railway station in Moscow, meeting the student at the railway station/ airport in St. Petersburg and seeing him/her to the university, drawing up documents for university admission, university registration fee, etc. This sum does not cover the air or train ticket costs.

Food expenses are 150 EURO per month. On first entering the Russian Federation the student should have about 400 EURO to buy some basic necessities and personal things (clothes, dishes, electrical equipment, etc.).
